About incentives and trends of VSAT development in Russia

Provides an overview of the development of VSAT networks in Russia. Presented legal documents defining the conditions for the use of VSAT Russia and frequency bands are available for use in Ku- and Ka- bands. The problems of a regulatory nature, including problems associated with the use of foreign satellites in view of the commitments of Russia's WTO accession. It is stated that the main driving force until 2012 were government programs. After 2012 Russia develops commercial satellite broadband network. Resource utilization of these networks and possible solutions to public problems, including the problem of providing all residents of Russia to broadband access to the Internet.
